What's happening in art?

  • The kindergarteners are creating a project from an Amazonian story called "Jabuti". They are using bright colored construction paper to make this delightful tortoise!
  • The first graders are reviewing their primary and secondary colors. With this review they will create two projects with each group of colors by making primary and secondary birds perched on a tree branch.

How about music?

  • The kindergarteners are learning their song for Kindergarten Graduation. It's hard to believe it's already here! The song is an Irish blessing entitled "May All Your Skies Be Blue Ones".
  • The second graders are learning about music intervals. This is a pretty difficult unit, but it will help with their sightreading abilities. CD request forms have been passed out for extra help studying at home. Click here to learn more about music intervals. Your students will be learning a very simplified version of this so don't worry!
  • The 5th/6th grade boys just completed the spring concert. What a show! Next, we will be reviewing music theory elements such as note values, rhythms, key signatures, and sightreading. The Honor Choir is also preparing for Sandy Lake on May 14th and just around the corner is graduation!
