The Honor Choir for selected fifth and sixth grade students are rehearsing every Wednesday Morning at 7:30 A.M. Click here for more information on the choir.

First grade is sight-reading music and writing their own rhythm using quarter notes, eighth notes and quarter rests.  First grade continues to learn traditional folk songs from America and around the world.

Second grade is working on intervals of unison, seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths. There is a song that goes with each interval and the students try to decide which interval I am playing on the piano.  Soon second grade will identify intervals by looking at examples as well as listening.

Third grade is continuing their studies in discovering music from Scottland, Israel, Japan, and France as well as the music of the Native Americans and the African American spiritual.  Soon they will be listening to selections from  Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.

Fourth grade is reviewing all notes and music symbols to prepare them for the upcoming recorder unit which will begin in May.  Each Student will need to bring their own recorder to each class.

Fifth and Sixth grade are working on music theory and sight-reading.
